Russian lawyer and Russian law expert Evgeniya (“Eve”) V. Burganova is an Associate in the Colodny Fass Litigation Division.
Ms. Burganova, who is licensed to practice law in Florida, has been in private practice handling civil litigation, family law, probate and guardianship matters. She is admitted to practice in all Florida courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
An American success story who went from being a Russian lawyer to a Florida lawyer in under 10 years, she formerly worked with Colodny Fass—first as a Litigation Paralegal and then, after earning her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center, as an attorney handling children’s civil rights and insurance defense cases.
As a lawyer in Russia, Ms. Burganova served as Justice of the Peace—a position in which she presided over civil and criminal cases alike, from divorce and child custody to misdemeanors and felonies warranting imprisonment. She also served as Chief Specialist of the Legal Department in a regional division of Russia’s health and medical insurance agency. There, she worked to protect the rights of insureds in various state medical insurance programs.
Ms. Burganova also taught labor law at a Russian college.
Since becoming an American lawyer, she has been called upon as a Russian law expert in several South Florida lawsuits.
